Hi, I’m Luna Grälls, I’m 17 and I’m from Kaiserslautern.
How it all started
I have been working on LAUTER. since late August 2026 – from the initial idea to the design and website, the editorial formats and building the project.
Much of it starts with me: the idea, the website, the design and the editorial content.
Why politics?
I have been interested in politics for a while, especially how political decisions are made, why some topics seem unnecessarily complicated, and how to explain them more clearly.
That is the idea LAUTER. grew from.
I wanted to create a place where understanding political news does not require working through long, complicated texts. A place that takes young people seriously and presents politics briefly, clearly, accurately and with sources.
What matters to me
But LAUTER. should not simply turn my personal opinion into a news website. Particularly with political topics, I want to explain different positions, make sources available, and distinguish news, explanation and opinion.
For me, LAUTER. is also an experiment:

By young people, for young people
For LAUTER., “by young people, for young people” does not mean simplifying political topics until important connections disappear.
It means explaining clearly, taking young people’s questions seriously, and still researching thoroughly.
Independence
LAUTER. is not a service of the City of Kaiserslautern.
LAUTER. is not a project of the youth parliament.
LAUTER. is not a medium of a political party.
LAUTER. is currently independently operated and privately funded.
